Team Basics
Summary
A collection of resources that you should be familiar with when using Dendron in a team setting
Prerequisites
- gone through the initial Onboarding
Start Here
Read these on your first day (~30min reading time)
- Daily Journal: how we do standup
- Discord: how we communicate
- Values: what we believe and how we make decisions
- Daily Asyncs: how we (don't) do meetings
- Key Principles: actionale heuristics we use to live up to our values
- Commands: Basic commands to be familiar with
- Weekly Planning: our once a week planning session
- Navigating the Dendron Workspace: understand how our workspace is laid out
- Updating Content in the Dendron Workspace: How to update content inside the team workspace
Gotchas
- when looking at an exported dendron note, most links will be broken as they are pointing to something inside of the dendron workspace. if a link doesn't resolve, go to the doc (see gdoc title for doc name)
- when you run workspace sync, sometimes new notes are not immediately indexed. check if a note is there by using
cmd+p/ctrl+p
instead
TIPS:
- run
workspace sync
at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day to make sure your contents are up to date- what out for rebase issues. if you hit one, resolve by following steps in resolving merge conflicts (Private)
- you can copy a wiki link (the
[[ ... ]]
) into Dendron's lookup prompt to navigate to it - daily journals, use it, add any discussion items you have there (reminder: journal entries for the next day are due at the end of the current day)
- keep your friction log up to date
- if your lost in the workspace, start Navigating the Dendron Workspace and don't be afraid to ask the team for help
- Over Communicate is a key principle, tell us when things are unclear
- look over Getting Things Done (GTD), Bullet Journaling, and Other Task Management Workflow Demos with Dendron (Private) once you're more familiar with Dendron - this gets you up to speed on keeping track of tasks
