Steps

Dailies: Morning

  • Social media and other checks: First round
    • Check in on Discord channels
      • #intros: For any new introductions, create a thread as a response and welcome them to the community. For any threads where they have continued the conversation, make sure to respond if a response is needed.
        • Thread name: welcome-<username>
        • First comment:
          Welcome to the Dendron party! šŸ„³ :dendron:
          (Include comment specific to their intro, resource links related to what they mentioned, or a short question like "How did you discover Dendron?" if they didn't state that already)
          
      • #environmentalist: For any new questions, make sure to respond. If not knowing how to respond, make sure to post in the #support channel that there is a question in this channel. More info: environmentalist channel (Private).
      • #dendrologist: For any new questions, make sure to respond. If not knowing how to respond, make sure to post in the #support channel that there is a question in this channel. More info: Dendrologists (Private).

Visit the following for latest comments or questions. These have less activity, which is why they are weekly checks. Generally, these should be checked more often if we've recently shared or uploaded something new, which is when we get the most activity (latest YouTube video, latest blog posts, etc.).

Blog posts and cross-posting

Whenever a new post is added to the Dendron Blog, we need to make announcements and cross-post to other websites that are configured to use canonicalUrl references.

Prerequisites

  • Account on Medium, invited to Dendron org
  • Account on DEV, invited to Dendron org
  • Account on Reddit, invited to be moderator on Dendron subreddit
  • Account on HackerNews

Checklist for cross-posting and announcing

  1. Day 1
    • post blog
    • announce on hacker news
    • announce on Dendron twitter
    • announce on personal twitter
    • announce on relevant reddit/slack/discord groups/individuals
  2. Day 2
    • cross post on dev.to
    • cross post to medium
    • announce on relevant reddit/slack/discord groups/individuals

Reference

LinkedIn

  • Create a LinkedIn account if you don't already have one
  • Request page owner/managers permissions from one of the page owners/managers
  • You should be able to post on behalf of the company page, and respond to posts on LinkedIn as the page account

HackerNews

  • Create an account on HackerNews
  • This site is also used to post links about the latest blog posts and YouTube videos of interest

dev.to

  • Create a personal account on dev.to
  • Request to be added to the Dendron org via an org owner
  • When posting, you can select that the post is meant to be posted under the org rather than just your personal account
    • Bonus: Whenever posting under the org, the post appears in both the Dendron org feed and your personal blog feed on dev.to

Medium

  • Create a personal account on Medium
  • Request to be added to the Dendron publication via a publication owner
  • When posting, make sure you are posting from the Dendron publication
    • Bonus: Whenever posting under the org, the post appears as a publication post with your account as the author

Twitter and Mastodon

  • User/password should be retrievable via our password vault
  • Request access to the Twitter account from team

Reddit

To get access to our subreddit, as a moderator:

  • Create a reddit user account
  • Request moderator permissions from the team

YouTube

  • Login to YouTube with your dendron.so account
  • Once given permissions by a Dendron channel manager/owner, you should be able to upload video to the channel and respond to comments as the channel
