Work at Dendron
Remote work
Remote work can be incredibly flexible but also hard to adjust to. Some general recommendations if you are new to remote work:
- set consistent hours (it doesn't matter what these hours are, just that they are consistent day to day)
Dendron Specific
Gotchas
- lookup might fail for new notes after a sync. in these cases, use
cmd+p
/ctrl+p
instead - run
workspace sync
at least 2x a day (once when you're starting and again when you are rending)
Using Dendron
- watch Getting Things Done (GTD), Bullet Journaling, and Other Task Management Workflow Demos with Dendron (Private) - this will go over managing tasks in Dendron
- the Search Editor (Private) is your friend - combine it with hierarchies to find what you need
Daily Journal
- instead of standup, we use the Daily Journal to keep everyone in the loop
- make liberal use of the [[Discussion|dendron://dendron.handbook/templates.standup.details#discussion]] section of your [[Daily Journal|dendron://dendron.handbook/area.team.concepts.daily-journal]] to bring up issues (these are reviewed by @kevin by 8AM PST)
Weekly Journal
Monthly Journal
#todo (Private) -->
Asyncs
- most meetings happen via Daily Asyncs. Make sure you udnerstand how they work
- you can browse old asyncs to get a feel for the format
Getting Help
- Over Communicate is a value. If you are stuck, ping in
#dendron-team
. Since we are a globally distributed team, there is usually always someone available to help out
